Paul Geraghty was born in Lancashire and attended Warrington School of Art and Design. He was awarded a BA (Hons) in Fine Art (Painting) at Stoke-on-Trent School of Art, North Staffordshire Polytechnic and is a post graduate of Goldsmith’s College, University of London. Paul taught art for 10 years in several inner city comprehensive schools in London before moving to Shrewsbury to continue teaching in Shropshire. Since 1997, Paul has been living and working in Cornwall, where the ever changing weather conditions along the West Penwith coast present constant challenges for the artist.
Paul is now a very well-known Cornish artist and his work has been exhibited throughout Cornwall and the UK.

He is a committee member of The National Acrylic Painters’ Association (NAPA) and held the post of Director from 2013 - 2016. Paul is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Artists. (FRSA).

About Paul
Paul started his formal art training at Warrington School of Art in 1972 where he was awarded the John Middleton travel bursary. He gained a BA (Hons) in Fine Art (Painting) from Stoke on Trent School of Art , (North Staffordshire Polytechnic) and is a postgraduate of Goldsmiths College, University of London. For 10 years Paul taught art in several inner London comprehensive schools before moving to Shrewsbury to continue teaching in Shropshire. Since 1997 Paul has been living and working in Cornwall. He has exhibited work in many group shows including exhibitions at; Goldsmiths Gallery , South London Warrington Museum and Art Gallery Horniman Museum Burslem Town Hall Chase Art Gallery, Wadebridge St David’s Hall, Cardiff Mariner’s Gallery, St Ives Falmouth Municipal Art Gallery Ratthaus, Stuttgart Penwith Art Gallery Cube 3, University of Plymouth La Figura, Windsor Ludlow Art Gallery Obsidian Gallery, Buckinghamshire Pannett Art Gallery, Whitby Exeter Castle Paul’s one-man exhibitions have included; Postcards from St Ives (The Gateway, Shrewsbury), Sea and Sky (St Ives Town Library) Time and Tide (St Ives Town Library) and Sea Changes (The Waterside Gallery, St Ives) Paul has exhibited many times with N.A.P.A., including at the Williamson Gallery, Birkenhead, The Oxmarket Gallery, Christchurch and Kennaway House, Sidmouth Awards; The Adrian Henri Memorial Award (2003,2004 and 2005). The President’s Award, NAPA 20th National Exhibition, Mariner’s Gallery, St Ives 2004 Fine Art Trade Guild, 2005 Daler Rowney “Best Painting Award”, NAPA 2006 “The Artist” painting award, 2007 Daler Rowney “Best British Painting”, Obsidian, Bucks 2008 The Adrian Henri Memorial Award. Several of Paul’s paintings have been included in Lexi Sundell’s book: “The Acrylic Artist’s Guide to Exceptional Colour”, published by Quarto Publishing 2012 Paul’s paintings can be found in collections in the UK, Italy, France, Switzerland and USA.

Paul Geraghty is a member of the National Acrylic Painters Association, (NAPA), holding the post of Director from 2013 to 2016 and continues as an active committee member. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.
